I was reading an article at a local news website inquirer.net and I came to this article about the potential of the Philippines to be one of the possible key producers or I may say contributor of Biodiesel that particularly will be produce from the extract of oil from Jatropha Plants or ‘Tuba-tuba” in Tagalog.
Well I firmly believe that the rising prices of Crude Oil and other Oil Products in the world market will really makes the effort of research to find ways on looking up the ever growing demand of fuel in the world from the traditional sources but a shift from the renewable and alternative sources.
As an agricultural country like the Philippines, we can see the big potential of this endeavor and hope the government and private sector could contribute more, thus uplifting our economy and the lives of ordinary citizens.

Sudden change of heart.
There is an ongoing political turmoil created by a speech from a novel peace price winner who recently visited the philippines. A turmoil that created a hindrance even within the administration senators.
Sen. Mig Zubiri overtly manifested his disappointment to his co – administration Senator, Miriam Defensor Santiago and who happens to be his co-author in the Biodiesel Act. Definitely, the opinion Dr. Hartmut Michel matters a lot to Santiago the reason why she backpedals on her earlier stand on the Biodiesel.
As to the future of Biodiesel and its potential in the philippine setting, we’ll have to wait the outcome of the ongoing debate on whether to retach or revised if not totally abolished the earlier law passed by the Senate.

It’s good to hear BP & GM talk about alternative fuels, but 50 years to implement is too long.

It is GM’s electric concept car the Chevy Volt. If more people begin to demand alternative fuel cars, we should be able to speed the rate at which the technology is developed.
