Andres Bonifacio

So many stories was told about Andres Bonifacio, specially on different Philippine Historical Books, but sometimes old stories from Old Historians or the ones we already called our “Lolo” and “Lola” (Grandpa and Grandma) who might live at least by the early 1930’s have lots of things they want to share about the real thoughts of people during their period. Here in Malolos, some of the local folk historians said that many Filipinos during the revolutionary period, mostly admire Andres Bonifacio as one of the many Katipunero liberator. They believe in his true desire to fight for our liberty knowing he came from true masses himself. Though more of the “Illustrados” or the rich and middle-class family were as influential like some spaniards and americans (due to their Educational attainment) but Andres Bonifacio’s influence and admirations could be merely just the same with the rich and middle-class katipuneros.

There was an old history gossip that mostly some of the old local folks of Malolos would just merely pass on to this story to their kin and grandchildren, in short the story is mostly a word of mouth pass on to generations. There was a very big National event that was held in Malolos, and it happened after the Filipino-American War (and we are already under the Americans since we already lost from them) that Emmilio Aguinaldo was also a guest of honor . However as Emilio Aguinaldo entered Camino Real (road going to Barasoain Chruch and Malolos Cathedral), they said the local folks all closes their window and hang a black cloth in all sizes outside their houses and windows, as a sign of they dislike the Aguinaldo and still protest the misjudgement of killing Andres Bonifacio. Well it’s an old history gossip in Malolos, but we can not really hide the fact that the killing of the Bonifacio Brothers had somewhat had left some scarce in history and yes, it’s still kinda happening until now, just observe on our present local and national leaders. I think Filipino’s should change some bad habit even before for us to really have the true Independence of our Nation.
