God’s Abundance

Every year specially during the 9th of January, I had this devotion to attend the Mass at the Feast of the Black Nazarene at Quiapo Church in Manila, I was doing it for almost I think 9 years already. But this time, I can’t attend the mass in Quiapo Church since I am already based at Singapore and I did not have the scheduled trip to go back home, last Christmas season and the month of January. Why? Because the airfare ticket during this holiday seasons is three times the ordinary price. So I decided it would be practical not to go back home and just merely plan to have my trip on February when airfare tickets will go back to it’s normal prices.

However since I can’t attend the Holy Mass in Quiapo Church, I just decided to attend the mass in Novena Church in Singapore. Good thing I was quite early and arrive a quarter before 12 pm.

Ever since I started up working in Singapore, I was somewhat have all the freetime in the world for myself, I mean I can exercise and have plenty of time to read since I was only living all alone here and left my family back in the Philippines. This was also the moment in my life that I fully understand how really hard to be working far from your family and loved ones, in exchange of a higher-paying job abroad. And due to this loneliness in me, I realized to read more about how to have some financial freedom and the things I should do, for me to not to totally to rely on being an employee as my source of income as I grow older and just with be with my family.

However as I am hearing the holy mass, in the sermon, the priest explain and elaborated about the bible reading. The story of the reading was about how Jesus manage to feed 5,000 people with only two breads and two fish. Well, the priest just merely said that there is only one message with it, and that God want’s us to know that there is an abundance of his grace in this world and if you just truly just believe in him, it is plenty for everyone. God is not selfish, he wants us to be happy and it’s just us who will merely decide in our life how abundantly we can have from God’s graces. Yes, God don’t really want us to live in misery, we may be just into that current or present scenario of some hard life since he just want us to learn and to rise from our feet. But the message is very clear, God gave us almost everything in this world, it just depends on us, specially on our faith, on how we will live with God’s graces.

There is one youtube video from Bo Sanchez, and the message is clear ‘Don’t Romanticize with Poverty’ and don’t tell yourself, that it is God that want us to be Poor because we always believe that God will love us more because we are poor. Again God loves the poor people, but he is not selfish. They say whatever you feed to your Mind, it will always be the result in your life, so if you keep on telling yourself that it is God who wants you to be in your current situation, then expect the result that it will be. But if you tell yourself and feed your mind that there is always some blessings from God’s Abundance, then why not dream of becoming rich? and when you are rich, then you can help more poor people. It’s just a matter of reason on why you want to be rich as long as you will still live according to God’s will.

There is always a saying ‘ YOU CAN NOT GIVE WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE’.
